Japanese Art Form
Decoden is a modern Japanese art form that involves adorning objects with vibrant silicone cream, adorned with an array of charming gems and decorations. The term 'Decoden' stems from the combination of 'decorate' and 'denwa,' which translates to 'decorate mobile phone' in Japanese.
In traditional decoden, artisans intricately cover phone cases with colorful silicone cream, resembling delicious cake icing. These creamy canvases are then adorned with an assortment of adorable charms, gems, and jewels, often referred to as cabochons. To add a touch of glamour, colorful sprinkles and glitter are sprinkled on top, resulting in a kawaii, eye-catching masterpiece - more is more!
While phone cases are a popular canvas for decoden, the art form isn't limited to them. Virtually any object can be transformed through decoden. At our workshops, we offer the choice to decorate either a mobile phone case or a photo frame, though we're happy to work with you if there's something in particular that you're interested in transforming into your own piece of decoden art.
